Rear Works

Start Expected to end

Status: in progress

The rear of Maylands is undergoing a renovation, with scaffolding going up to access high-level areas and chimneys. Key tasks include replacing the roof, restoring brick and stonework, installing new windows, and ensuring the building is safe with lightning protection. Additionally, decorative features like window cills, rainwater goods, and soil pipes will be added, along with pest control measures and final inspections, all culminating in a sleek and secure rear elevation.

This milestone includes

Raise Scaffold at the Rear

We will start by building a safe platform at the back of the building to reach the highest points and ensure every corner gets the attention it needs.

Install Hoist

A hoist is installed, making it easier to lift heavy materials up and down, speeding up the work and ensuring a smooth flow of progress.

Asbestos Survey on Fabric

Before any changes, we check for asbestos, safely inspecting the fabric to ensure everything is clear and ready for the works to continue.

Each brick and stone is examined for wear and tear, with a strategy created to repair and re-point wherever necessary, preserving the building's history.

Stone Repairs

Start June 2025Expected to end July 2025

Stones are gently cleaned, returning the rear facade to its former glory.

Waterproofing to Stonework

Start August 2025Expected to end September 2025

Special waterproofing is applied to the building's feature stonework, protecting it from the elements and ensuring it lasts for years to come.

New windows are carefully fitted into the rear elevation, bringing light and a polished look to the space.

Final Check of Exterior Fabric

Start Expected to end

Once the heavy lifting is done, a thorough inspection is carried out to ensure the main exterior work is completed to the highest standards.

Pest Control

Start Expected to end

We ensure the building is free from pests with a professional treatment, keeping everything clean and safe for all.

Install Rainwater Decs

Start Expected to end

Installing rainwater systems, ensuring both function and style as water flows down the building’s facade.

Start Expected to end

Installing soil pipes, enhancing the overall look of the rear of the building.

Organise and Manage Cables

Start Expected to end
